Healthy skin in all seasons is necessary for all of us, even our children and the men in our lives. Summer time seems to bring on all kinds of challenges when it comes to our skin issues. We are exposed to all kinds of toxins in the air, sunburns, bug bites, poison ivy and poison oak threats when enjoying the outdoors. It also seems like when we are younger , we have the tendency to sun-bathe our entire bodies with no regard to the future of our health matters.

The clothing that we wear-or don’t wear- is very important to our skin care to have healthy skin. A sun burn can leave us with dry skin, blisters, infections and scarring from all of these issues so proper head gear is very important. Visit a dermatologist for a day and you will wear protective coveting of some sort on our heads. Enjoy this video for facial protection:

summer skin care routine

Summer is a very trying time for our skin. Too much sun causes skin to dry out like leather. Learn the best way to keep you skin smooth, soft, and lovely .

The first signs of wrinkles usually appear in the delicate tissue around the eyes–smile lines or “crow’s feet.” Next, the cheeks and lips show damage. With age, our skin becomes both thinner and dryer, which contributes to the formation of wrinkles. Other factors which help to determine both the rate and the extent of wrinkling include; muscle tone, diet and nutrition, habitual facial expressions, stress, lack of proper skin care, exposure to environmental pollutants, and lifestyle habits such as smoking. Heredity also plays a small role.

The most important factor is sun exposure, which not only dries out the skin but also leads to free radical damage to the skin cells. The sun is your skin’s worst enemy. It is estimated that 90% of what we think of, as signs of age are actually signs of overexposure. Overexposure does not necessarily mean sunbathing or sunburn; approximately 70% percent of sun damage takes place during everyday activities such as driving and walking to and from your car. The ultraviolet-A (UVA) rays that do this damage are present all day long and in all seasons. Worse, the effects of the sun are cumulative, although they may not be obvious for many years.

When we take care of our skin and what we expose it to, we will proud of our smile and how we look in that morning mirror. Have healthy skin and a healthy skin will glow when a smile is added to our face.
