Let’s look at 5 different ways to stay healthy and prevent diseases from affecting our lifestyle. This means that what we eat does affect everything and every cell in our bodies.
1. Eat only when you are hungry. Eat often. I eat every 2 hours and don’t eat anything 3 hours before bedtime.
2. Use a smaller plate when you eat your meals. Smaller plates will encourage you to do smaller servings.
3. Always eat fresh fruits and fresh veggies daily, an ounce of nuts, high-fiber whole grain breads or cereal especially in the morning. My favorite is steel-cut oats with fresh blueberries, no sugar or milk, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
4. Meats, if you eat them should include a fish like salmon, talapia, flounder or catfish.
5. Really healthy is cooked tomatoes sauce for the anti-oxidant lycopene, which decreases prostate and other cancers. A good receipe is whole grain pizza crust with tomato sauce and baked then layered with all kinds of fresh veggies.
These are 5 ways to stay healthy. This is a wonderful start to protecting yourself from dis-eases, improve your immune system as it’s your first line of defense and you know what, you will probably lose a few inches from that waistline.
Drink lots of water. I drink water before every meal to also replenish my system and it also helps fill you up. It helps cleanse our bodies,keep us hydrated and keeps our skin healthy and helps avoid those wrinkles.
Avoid all processed foods, sugar loaded, and anything that contains trans and /or saturated fats on that plate of food. These things add no value to your meals or help you grow healthy cells to keep that body in the best running and healing itself on a daily basis.
