Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

It is the fungi present in your skin. Moist areas are where fungi grow. When you change the position where fungal growth has taken place then you can expect a yeast infection. Though our skin is ready and geared to tackle any fungal complications, any break in the skin can however cause organisms to enter.

Good Health Advice

You might find it silly, but yeast infection occurs to only adult women but never to children. Children get oral thrush but never in any other part of the body. Parents would surely have heard of any such falsehoods as their child was growing up. Overgrowth of Candida is a condition which may affect children, like any one else. For such infections to occur and spread, all that is needed is a warm and damp environment.

The cute folds and the areas which are usually covered by diapers are the ideal places where Candida can breed. Well, not very different from thrush with the same white lumpy appearance and smells a bit like baking bread. This would help in the prevention of yeast infection.

Beat Cancer! Yes, really you can. Yes, you can research alternative methods of taking care of yourself. I am a cancer survivor and you can be also. Our medical industry wants us to think that they have the Only Answer as it brings them a healthy lifestyle of unlimited incomes. I for one, do not want that to be my case and downfall.

You see the most susceptible ones to skins cancers are the fair skinned, blue eyed, blonds that burn easily when out in the hot sun for as little as 15 minutes, that’s me! We need to take special care of how long we are then exposed to those dangerous rays. Such things as wide-brimmed hats, over-sized long sleeved shirts as cover-ups and a non-toxic sun screen. Let me tell you this is serious as even skin cancers can be deadly.

Light-colored skin, sun exposure, and age are all important factors in the development of basal cell carcinomas. We, who have fair skin and are older have higher rates of basal cell carcinoma. About 20% of these skin cancers,  occur in areas that are not sun-exposed, such as the chest, back, arms, legs, and scalp. The face, remains the most common location for basal cell lesions and will leave the most noticeable scars and therefore you may need additional surgeries to help with the scars left. Scars go deeper than just looks, they also affect how wer fell when looking at an ugly scar. Some of the other causes of these skins cancers include the weakening of the immune system, whether by disease or medication, can  promote the risk of developing basal cell carcinoma.

Help me beat cancer by taking a serious look at what you put into your body. Start today and include lots of organic raw foods, healthy oils such as olive and coconut, nuts like walnuts, salads with these healthy oils and nuts and fresh berries.

Help yourself and prevents scars. Beat Cancer

What is Skin Cancer

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Good afternoon,

What is skin cancer? Let’s talk about this today because whenever we mention the word ‘cancer’ a fear comes over us and we panic or are scared to pieces of the end results.

There are 2 positive aspects to skin cancer and that is that it develops outside of our bodies and we can take preventive action to reducing the risks of getting skin cancers.

There are 3 major kinds of skin cancers. The first one is Basal cell carcinoma and is the most common as it is usually a small, maybe round, usually raised reddish spot. When detected early the possibilities of cure are great but definitely needs to be treated as an unwanted part of our skin.

Squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common of skin cancers and usually shows up as a result of sun exposed areas. It is a slow grower and has a tendency to spread to other parts of the body and it is has a relation to actinic keratosis, a preliminary stage of a skin cancer. The cure rates of it are also good when taken care of when first noticed.

Malignant Melanoma is the most dangerous one and is life-threatening to most. It’s potential power will cause it to spread to other parts of ones body. This is usually in the form of a moles that is changing in size, color and maybe even quite black and possibly shiny as mine was. Early detection is the key for survival in this case.

Other precancerous lesions sometimes can or have the potential of turning into cancerous condition so always check your skin for some different patterns and textures.

Actinic Keratosis is a precancerous skin disease and nearly always occurs on sun exposed areas and looks totally harmless and usually rough and scaly in patches and you need to have that checked out also and it can develop into a skin cancer.

Who is susceptible to skin cancers? those of us that are fair skinned, light complexion and those who sun burn quite easily and work outside without the proper long sleeves and a big brimmed hat.

Take charge of your health matters to prevent skin cancers while you are young, don’t sun bath and burn yourself outside on the beach or pool side, or for that matter in a tanning salon. A beautiful tan is not worth the ugly scar when the removal of a skin cancer of any kind needs to be removed from ones body.

Take the time to visit a dermatologist office and see those with part of their nose, parts of their ears and holes in their arms and legs from over-doing ,being in the sun for extended periods of time. Is it worth it? I personally do not. My procedures were from working out in the sun and not properly covered with long sleeved shirts and that big brimmed hat.

Pastry-faced and Healthy

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Good morning,

With the hot sun and long days of summer, can you and are you able to be outside in the sun for long periods of time and not get burned? Well, I for one am one of those pastry-faced persons that can not do it nor should I.

You see I am a melanoma survivor. My dreams of being a sun-bather or experiencing extended periods of being in the sun are gone. I also experienced getting too much heat from the sun also and that is also serious for ones health.

Here are some health tips: the melanin, a skin pigment, darkens the skin and protects it against the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation. How you produce melanin may convey social status and or appearance of health, vitality and wealth.

Some people use the full-spectrum sunlight but this also is dangerous and can cause ultra-violet damage to our tender skin.

Those same cells that produce skin pigment and protect from UV rays of sunlight or sunshine may also produce an abnormality called melanoma or another term used is skin cancer.

Melanoma can be particularly devastating, as some believe there are no effective treatment option and life expectancy is approximately nine months after diagnosis, at best.

Researchers are actually looking to see if cancer-fighting capabilities are possible by seeing if the body’s own line of defence is where it all begins. T-cells which moderate our immune system, kept at optimum with a proper diet are so important as our health matters.

Include those raw foods on a daily basis and eat lots of them in the summer, sunny months, they are so important for the proper nutrition of our immune systems. You and only You can induce your immune system to stick around and keep cancers from growing.

The proper way of dealing with this is number one. Don’t stay in the sun until you look like a beet or fried tater. Proper care while you are younger will also protect you from early wrinkling, premature aging, cancer and you will look prettier if you a lightly tanned instead of a brown leather look.

Let’s not let death be a option and observe some sun rules and eating habits of adding lots of raw veggies and raw fruits in our daily lives all year long. I also have changed my lifestyle since my melanoma and do include lots of raw veggies and raw fruits into my diet. By the way, I am a survivor for over 10 years. Join me, will you?
