Organic Raw Food Tips

Monday, October 6th, 2008

I positively believe that everyone wants to be and feel healthy. I am also pretty sure that everybody wants to look great, and not only women.

Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in your body? It gives, for the other organs of the body, a protective covering. It changes to regulate your internal body temperature. It’s also a excellent indicator of overall health and well-being.

People spend thousands of dollars on skin products to make your skin look vibrant and glowing. They’re all topical products – products that we put on top of our skin. But if we spent just a fraction of the money we spend on these products on RAW FOODS, we’d begin to see an instant change in our skin texture.

You put more of the essential vitamins and amino acids your body needs into it when you eat raw foods. You also add natural moisture. Raw foods contain a lot more moisture than cooked foods, simply because the cooking process removes so much important moisture.

Your skin reflects what is happening in the rest of your body. And when your blood and organs are fed the nutrition they need to function properly, that shows in your skin. You can obtain your moisture and vitamins from foods like apples and carrots. If you do, then sayings like “inner beauty” and “inner glow” will apply to YOU.

Your skin is the rest of the world sees and the best first impression is made with healthy, glowing skin. Skin health and raw food go very well together.

Green Health

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Good afternoon,

Green health is one of the most talked about subjects these days concerning our health of our bodies and the healthy environment we want for ourselves and our families to live in. What have you made plans to heal our environment and for your body? These are a few suggestions for us to do and think about today. Here’s why I think organic and raw foods are our best alternatives when it comes to our foods today.

When foods are grown organically, they face more of a challenge from the environment. Their biology has to work harder, and in doing so the plant ends up containing higher levels of nutrients. Have you ever noticed this when buying organic raw vegetables and fresh fruits, that they seem to always be larger in size?

The second health advantage of eating organic is that you don’t expose your body to dangerous pesticides. The pesticides used in conventional farming practices can have some serious health risks. Most Americans get low-level, but ongoing exposure to these pesticides and that can contribute to the development of cancer and neurological disorders. The sprays that are used for bugs and the sprays used for fertilizer all contain some form of toxin.

When we switch to organic foods as much as possible, we can cut down on your exposure to pesticides. I know that organic foods are often more expensive. Switching to a 100% organic diet may not be practical for everyone. Here’s another recommendation for us to do.

For meats, choose organic or wild-caught when possible. Bison is a good choice over ground beef. If you can’t afford to buy organic, buy the brand with the least processing and then trim the fat before cooking—the fat is where most of the toxins are stored.

For fruits and vegetables, if you can’t afford to buy organic all the time you can use a simple guideline to get the most out of the organics you do buy. Whenever you will eat the skin buy organic. If it’s something you will peel before eating, then conventional is okay. Always wash your fresh vegetables and fresh fruits even when you buy organic as this will cut down on the sprayed-on toxins as well.

For grains, choose whole grains first and then organic if possible. It’s better to eat conventionally-grown whole grains than organic refined grains. They make some really delicious whole grain breads and you can find these in the freezer departments of your health food sections of your grocery stores and health food stores. Have you ever tried lightly toasted Ezekial bread with coconut oil for that great taste and also excellent healthy benefit?

Let’s take a stand and make our green health a priority and see the amazing benefits of eating more raw foods on a daily basis. Saves energy, right…

Preventive Health is Best Choice

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Good afternoon,

What are your ideas concerning preventive health? Do you ever give your health a thought when shopping at the grocery store or when you pick up that soft drink and snack at the gas station? Have you ever thought about what ingredients are in them or the effect it will have on your body? Do you have any kind of health challenge, such as over-weight, diabetes, high blood pressure, stress, or some of the other diseases such as cancer, heart disease, liver disease or we could go on and on? Have you ever researched to see what side effects are possible by eating this kind of foods and drinking those kinds of drinks?

Are we going to wait until we have one of those health challenges to start and then consider what we put into our mouths is what our bodies will be? In my opinion if its processed, packaged or manufactured it is not the best to be eating or drinking. About the only kinds of good foods that are processed are those dehydrated by a low heat process so that they do not kill the all important enzymes in them. There are some really great green’s drinks when time doesn’t allow for juicing of our fresh greens. There is an abundant variety of fresh fruits in our fruit stands and grocery outlets for us to carry and fix for ourselves everyday.

The biggest question for me is whom can I trust? Can I trust doctors and pharmacists? Can I trust our government to ensure that the products we use are safe? I think the obvious answer is that everyone has to educate himself or herself. We have to demand more out of higher authorities than ourselves. We have a right to feel safe with our food and the products we use every day.

It’s time that we return to the organic, all natural foods and products that we were meant to be using since the beginning of time. We must stop eating products that contain artificial flavors and preservatives among a huge long list of other ingredients. We should rid our lives of as many of these toxic and completely unnecessary chemicals and ingredients in every area of our lives. It can’t happen over night, but slowly changes can be made in everyone’s lives.

How about adding lots of fresh veggies and fresh fruits to our daily meals? You will see a remarkable difference in your energy also.
