paste and almond butters that we can use for
spread on our whole grain breads and even
on apple slices. You can use almond butters
in place of peanut butter.

Heart Healthy Eating Is The Right Path Towards A Healthy Heart

Valeo HW8 8-Pound Neoprene Hand Weights

The human heart is a very essential and integral part of the human
body. It therefore goes without doubt that one ought to take good
care of the same. To ensure that your heart stays healthy you need
to focus on your food and lifestyle and take both of them on the
healthy route .

Heart healthy food is very important as it helps you not to get into
trouble in the first place! It helps control heart diseases and can be
very successful in doing so. Heart healthy eating basically means
eating things that are natural – nuts, berries, fruits and vegetables
- and keeping away from the pre-packaged, over-processed snacks
that entice in cupboards. Get rid of those Twinkies, Ho-hos and
Doritos, or they’ll put you in the ground once all is said and done.

The heart healthy food professes the need to eat nutrient rich food.
This is because the human body is meant to break down the
nutrients in natural foods, and we can process those nutrients more
easily and more effectively than anything we’ve yet created in a lab.

Other aspects of heart healthy eating to pay notice to both balance
and portion control. Balance means eating the right percentage of
certain foods – again, vegetables and fruits, nuts and berries are the
important ones – in relation to other foods. Yes, we all love a good
steak once in a while. And yes, we’re omnivores.
Mankind had millions of years to evolve to digest food that grows in
the soil or from trees; we’ve not been eating animals nearly so long.
So for every serving of steak or any other flesh, you should have
three or more of fruits, vegetables, nuts or berries.

According to irenefk’s results you need to include exercise to build
muscle, improve the immune system and definitely remove all junk
foods from your diet as well. A healthy heart means a healthy body
and that comes from heart healthy eating all of the time for the
entire family.

Antioxidants Fight Disease

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Antioxidants fight disease constantly and are know as disease fighters. They can help with every day colds and flu, cancers, fatigue and protect the hearts of all of us.

Antioxidants are our defense mechanism again all free radicals the do damage to our bodies on a constant basis.

Do you know what an antioxidant is? If you ever eaten an apple slowly, you’ve probably noticed it start to turn a little brownish where you have taken a bite. The oygen has started a process of oxidation and this is the same in our bodies so that is whey we need things like Vitamin C to combat and prevent the damage to our cells. To illustrate this a little further, if you squeese a little lemon juice or orange juice over the apple that you are eating , this browning will not happen or as rapidly.

The same process happens in our bodies when we eat lots of raw fruits, raw vegetables and all those others that are loaded with antioxidants. A lot of the berry family is full of antioxidants such as blue berries and strawberries, the walnut, sugar free pomegranate and grape juices, dried legumes, and some great vegetables include spinach and the cabbage family.

That green salad that you have for lunch and dinner is very important and can be filled with antioxidants to fight disease on a daily basis. Do you realize to improve your immune system and keep the defenses built up you need at least 9 servings or more of fresh raw foods daily.

Want a few tips on how to do this? The sugar free grape and pomegranate juices we talked about earlier to start your day with a scrambled egg topped with fresh salsa or maybe you’d like an omelet better for your family. Then lets add some chopped tomatoes, fresh onion, some of the bell peppers for a tasty antioxidant loaded meal.

Now let’s add a dish of fresh fruit of a banana, some sliced fresh strawberries, fresh blueberries,  maybe even a fresh peach for more antioxidants.

For dinner let’s prepare a veggie pizza with some freshly chopped spinach, fresh herbs like basil, add some oregano, sliced mushrooms, finely chopped broccoli, chopped garlic and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper when it comes out of the oven.

Now look at all the antioxidants fight disease for your family and aren’t those dishes tasty and colorful?
