Appreciation

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Appreciation as in gratitude or the emotion of appreciation is what we want to know-how do we get it, how do we have it when everything some days seems to be falling apart on us and how it affects our lives on a daily basis.

Appreciation is also a term used with monetary issues as is also used a lot these days with the stock markets, our saving accounts that we had earned have hit rock bottom for some of us and the opposite of that is depreciation or our funds lowered to the point of not much left for us.

Appreciation-the emotion-is what will carry us through life’s trials and hurts on any given day. Being truly grateful for what you like and what you don’t like is the completion of the cycle of gratitude. What do you appreciate today? Can you list just 10 things? Start by writing them down. A piece of paper, the ability to write or print, the ability to see, smell , walk, run, smile, are a few tips for you to get your list going

Enjoy this and see if you can appreciate things in your life today:

Gratitude

Gratitude is the key to a happy life and being content with the here and now.

Look around you, remember the saying ’stop and smell the roses’. Enjoy life, Smile at the next person, pray for the other person, show appreciation by allowing some else in the traffic on the way to and from work, sing your prayers of gratitude.

I am appreciating my grandchildren this week here as its rodeo week at the local town. I appreciate all the long hours the cowboys and cowgirls have practiced to perform and earn monies to pay their expenses. I appreciate seeing old friends. I appreciate my family all being together for a couple of days. I am grateful for the health of all. I am grateful for their laughter, their smiles, their enthusiasm, their energies, their positive attitudes and I appreciate them coming to the farm and being with me and enjoying the farm animals and freedom and fresh air.

Health matters for all of us and appreciation and gratitude is one of the most important emotions one needs to practice daily, hourly and at bedtime so one can reduce the stresses of life and being healthy is another gratitude to celebrate.

Show appreciation to one and all. You can’t be mad and glad at the same time. Your health will improve with doing an appreciation list-gratitude list-or whatever you choose to call it. I’m grateful for all of you that comment and read my ‘health tips for health matters’ daily. Together we can make a difference by showing our appreciation for all and to all.

4th of July

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

4th of July this weekend brings lots of memories for all of us and I sincerely hope that Gratitude is on the top of the list. Grateful for number one our freedom to be, do and have all that we are created for.

Grateful for our service men and women serving our country in all parts of the world, giving of themselves with no regret, so that we here and around the world are free to choose life, liberty, freedom of choice, freedom of voice, freedom to eat whatever we choose, choose our own care for our bodies, choose our friends and choose to be happy no matter where we live and work. This quote says it quite doesn’t it?

I believe in America because we have great dreams–and because we have the opportunity to make those dreams come true.

Happy 4th of July.

Celebrate your freedoms with passion on this 4th of July, share love with family, with friends, with someone less fortunate than you are.Be grateful for one and all as you take time to reflect how and why we are allowed to celebrate our freedoms. If you have never had the opportunity to visit the memorial grounds of our serviceman and servicewomen, then take the time to appreciate this video:

Arlington, a musical tribute for Fourth of July

July 4th. An original song in tribute to our fallen heroes and all who have served the USA. Written and performed by the Worship Team leader of Faith Baptist Church, Osterville, MA. God bless you all.

4th of July, what a great day to celebrate with music also. Lots of songs have been written to life our spirts and make our souls sing for joy of all that we as a free country appreciate, no matter our vocation, place of residence and in what part of the world we reside. Watch some fireworks. Appreciate Life and love life.

Happy 4th of July!

Song: My Country tis of Thee Words by: Samuel F. Smith Sheet Music/Tabs: None :( Ocarina: Eagle Pendant – whistleworks.com I wanted to make a video really quick to wish everyone a Happy Independence Day! Although it is widely known as the British National Anthem, “God Save the Queen”, an American named Samuel F. Smith added new lyrics to the melody in 1831 and it became well known as an American patriotic hymn. It was soon recognized as America’s unofficial National Anthem, but was …

Be Grateful This Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Be grateful this Thanksgiving for all the bounty that we have here in the United States. Yes, things have changed quite a bit in the last few months but the one thing that we need to do more  of is say “Thank You” to everyone. Showing gratitude and appreciation for each other is also healthy for us.

Give thanks for the food on your table. Give thanks for the family that you have. Give thanks that we still live in the greatest country of freedom. Give thanks that we are free. Give thanks for those that are protecting our freedoms.

When we sit down to that dinner prepared, let us remember that first Thanksgiving when our forefathers came through huge struggles and challenges. Let us enjoy each other and appreciate all of those that do not have food on their tables. Let us remember our food pantry’s this year as there are those who will be hungry that day also, yes, even here in the United States.

Here’s a couple of hints for the left-overs of our meal on Thanksgiving day: Refrigerate as soon as possible all of the food, use all left-overs within 3 days, and you can also freeze the left-over meat in labeled packages for future use within 3 or 4 months. Fruit pies can be left out a bit longer than creme pies or that that have eggs in the ingredients. Always reheat gravies to at least 165 degrees for safety and the dressing that you prepared.

Make sure and include lots of fresh organic raw vegetables, organic fresh fruits and whole grain breads on this day also. Use raw foods to add color and nutrition to this day also. You might like to serve an organic wine in clear glasses for that beautiful color also.

Number one tip for this day is be grateful as we are all blessed in at least one way.
