Scare Tactics and Health Matters

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Scare tactics and health matters are a great concern for all of us. What is real, What is true, What is half-truth, What do I believe? What can I do about it?

How many of the following scares have you heard
of?

When you microwave food in plastic containers
(including plastic wrap, the plastic trays that come
with frozen TV dinners, and even plastic baby bottles),
the plastic seeps into the food or beverage, and
produces carcinogens that give rise to a variety of
cancers.

Commercial hair dyes, especially those that contain
chemicals such as diaminoanisole and FD&C Red 33,
cause rare cancers such as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma,
Hodgkin’s disease and multiple myeloma. One study
even claims that at least 20% of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
found in women is caused by use of hair dyes.

Taking high doses of vitamin E supplements increases
the risk of lung cancer by 28%. [This is according to a
study of 77,000 people who consumed 400 mg of Vitamin E
per day. The risk is even higher among smokers who take
high doses of Vitamin E.]

Granite counter tops, one of the most sought-after upgrades in
residential housing, may be emitting dangerous levels of
radiation. Although not all granite is radioactive, some of
the more exotic granite varieties, particularly the red, pink and
purple granites, have been detected to have dangerously high
radon levels, and thus pose a serious health risk.

Canola oil, which has been touted as a “healthy” oil since 1986,
has been linked to high lung cancer rates in Chinese women
who used the oil in wok cooking. Consumption of canola oil
has also been shown to cause fibrotic lesions of the heart,
CNS degenerative disorders, prostate cancer, anemia, lung cancer,
constipation, irritation of the mucous membranes and many
toxic effects, according to many nutritionists and biochemists.

No matter how many health scares you hear, you always have to
remember that the consumption of unhealthy substances, exposure
to dangerous chemicals or carcinogens, or even viruses or airborne
organisms are NOT the cause of disease. Usually, they are just the
catalysts that bring about the real CAUSE of disease, which is
OXYGEN DEFICIENCY in the body’s cells and tissues.

In the case of viruses, harmful bacteria, pathogens or disease
microorganisms, they thrive in the body only because the body
is oxygen deficient at the cellular level. Just like mosquitoes
seek out stagnant pools as their ideal habitat, but do not CAUSE
the pools to be stagnant – so, too, do viruses and germs seek out
their natural habitat (that is, diseased cells and tissues), but do
not cause the cells and tissues to be diseased.

There’s no longer any need for you to fear disease anymore
because there is a simple one-minute therapy which employs
the only oxygenating substance that stimulates the movement
of oxygen atoms from the bloodstream to the cells to a
dramatically greater degree than is usually reached by all other
means. Therefore, your cells and tissues are flooded with
oxygen instantly, thereby rendering your body uninhabitable by
disease.

If you’ve ever worried that your past unhealthy lifestyle or
unhealthy habits (like smoking or excessive alcohol
consumption or repeated exposure to a toxic environment)
may come back to haunt you in the form of a terrible disease,
even AFTER you’ve changed your ways; or if you fear
getting diseases that “run in the family” or diseases that
normally occur as a consequence of “getting older,” you can
now cast aside your worries and fears.

Taking care of our bodies is our number one concern. Take charge of your body now.

Women’s Health Problems: Breast Lumps

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

One of the most common women’s health issues that plague women are breast lumps. Finding a lump can be traumatizing. A lot of women feel that their breasts are what make them a beautiful woman and can’t bear the thought of losing their breast(s) should the lump turn out to be the sign of something life threatening.

There are several causes of breast lumps. Some of these causes are nothing to be concerned about, while others can be painful and/or dangerous.

One common cause of a breast lump is infection. An infections of the breast are known as mastitis and is particularly common in women who are breastfeeding. When the skin of the nipple (areola) is injured or cracked, such as is common with nursing, bacteria can enter the wound and cause infections. In a breastfeeding woman, a hard area commonly thought of a clogged milk duct will form. Sometimes, certain treatments can prevent the painful, hard area from developing into an actual breast infection (mastitis). Infections can either be a deep pocket of pus, in which the infection looks like it is growing down into the breast (an abscess), or a wider area of skin redness that spreads out (cellulitis). Body piercing in the nipple area increases the risk of breast infections that may be particularly difficult to treat.

Another cause of breast lumps is injury. If a breast is injured by trauma, tiny blood vessels can rupture to cause an area of localized bleeding (hematoma) that can be felt as a lump. Trauma to the breast can damage the fat cells in the breast tissue, a condition called fat necrosis which can also form a lump in the breast.

Third, there are non-cancerous growths such as Fibroadenomas or cysts. Fibroadenomas growths most commonly occur in women 30 to 35 years old. They are solid, firm tumors that are usually painless or only slightly tender. They sometimes grow quickly in teenagers or during pregnancy. Breast cysts are fluid-filled, tiny sacs within the breast tissue and are benign. They are very common, particularly over the age of 35. These cysts often vary in size during the menstrual cycle and may be tender.

Last, the most dreaded cause- cancer. Breast cancer usually causes no pain in the breast. Although women often worry about breast pain, most women with breast pain do not have breast cancer. Only about 6% of women with breast cancer have breast pain as their first sign of cancer.

Nipple discharge that occurs without the nipple being touched can be caused by benign (non-cancerous) growths. Examples of these growths are intraductal papillomas (non-cancerous growths that protrude into the milk ducts) and dilated areas of milk ducts (ductal ectasia). Nipple discharge can also be caused by cancer of the breast tissue. Because nipple discharge can be a sign of cancer, it needs to be evaluated by a doctor.

Skin changes on the breast, including redness and warmth, can sometimes be a sign of breast cancer. A form of breast cancer that commonly causes these signs of inflammation is Paget’s disease of the breast. Most inflammation or rashes on the breast are not due to cancer. They may be caused by benign problems such as nipple eczema or a fungus infection. Still, any breast rashes should be evaluated by a doctor. Areas that are especially scaly and red, particularly if they are persistent, or if there is also nipple discharge, are often sampled (biopsied) to rule out cancer.

In conclusion, women’s health issues such as breast lumps are not to be taken lightly. Should you find a lump in your breast, it is best to seek medical attention immediately to rule out the possibility of it being the sign of something life threatening like cancer.

Beat Cancer

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Beat Cancer! Yes, really you can. Yes, you can research alternative methods of taking care of yourself. I am a cancer survivor and you can be also. Our medical industry wants us to think that they have the Only Answer as it brings them a healthy lifestyle of unlimited incomes. I for one, do not want that to be my case and downfall.

You see the most susceptible ones to skins cancers are the fair skinned, blue eyed, blonds that burn easily when out in the hot sun for as little as 15 minutes, that’s me! We need to take special care of how long we are then exposed to those dangerous rays. Such things as wide-brimmed hats, over-sized long sleeved shirts as cover-ups and a non-toxic sun screen. Let me tell you this is serious as even skin cancers can be deadly.

Light-colored skin, sun exposure, and age are all important factors in the development of basal cell carcinomas. We, who have fair skin and are older have higher rates of basal cell carcinoma. About 20% of these skin cancers,  occur in areas that are not sun-exposed, such as the chest, back, arms, legs, and scalp. The face, remains the most common location for basal cell lesions and will leave the most noticeable scars and therefore you may need additional surgeries to help with the scars left. Scars go deeper than just looks, they also affect how wer fell when looking at an ugly scar. Some of the other causes of these skins cancers include the weakening of the immune system, whether by disease or medication, can  promote the risk of developing basal cell carcinoma.

Help me beat cancer by taking a serious look at what you put into your body. Start today and include lots of organic raw foods, healthy oils such as olive and coconut, nuts like walnuts, salads with these healthy oils and nuts and fresh berries.

Help yourself and prevents scars. Beat Cancer

Prevent Breast Cancer with Foods

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Prevent breast cancer with foods is possible as our health matters when it comes to all diseases, wouldn’t you say today? I have researching foods and our health for years, the toxins that they contain or possibilities of them and how they are grown. Are they commercially fertilized? are they sprayed with a toxin to keep them beautiful? Are they waxed with chemicals to make them shine and appeal to the eye, instead of for our healthy consumption?

Here are some foods that are healthy for us ladies as well as you, the men. Yes, men get breast cancer also and that is a great concern as well with my readers.

Here’s some foods that I have found that can help us with the great nutrients that they contain and I will try to help those of you and myself included stay away from breast cancers. First let’s talk about the pumpkin at this time of the year when they are just being harvested from those big fields. Yes, we are talking about the healthy benefits of the ‘jack-o-lantern- that you carve for that front porch. Pumpkin, sweet potatoes and some of the squash family are all harvested here in the Midwest now and decorate our yards. They are very fiber-rich with that great source of beta carotene and as you know that is a great protector of our DNA.

Another harvest goodies at this time of year is the apples, of which have lots of vitamins and antioxidants and quercetin which is a protector of our bodies from lung cancers and can help with slowing the prostrate cancer cells of men.

Please don’t leave out the herb of garlic of which I use on a daily basis for keeping my immune system healthy. This amazing herb will fight for our breast cancers and other cancers of our stomach as well. Use garlic in your salads raw, top your soups with it, throw a clove of it into your smoothies, and make a tea of it when you have a sore throat approaching. Keep that immune system operating at its best daily.

Tomatoes are finishing up the season in our garden but they are also on my list of great cancer fighters. I’m sure you have heard of lycopene and its great qualities. Yes, even ketchup is on that list as well as tomato paste, tomato sauce and eating them raw, my favorite way.

Don’t forget to add your healthy teas, both black and the green one for those most needed antioxidants and that call them catechins, another tool to help avoid cancers.

Good sources of another form of antioxidants is found in the different berries like blueberries and blackberries with their anthocyanins, another one to have on our team of cancer fighters. Put some on your oatmeal for breakfast and top those green salads with them for a couple of great ways to improve your diet.

See how all of these can be added to our menus for men and women and our children to help us from breast cancers. Yes, even children can get breast cancers.

Start your own battle against cancer with raw foods and enjoy these all available now in your farmers markets and in your organic foods stores.

Be Healthy.
