Dandelions and Healthy Digestion

Good afternoon,

I think that you will recall an article that I wrote this spring on dandelions and healthy digestion. If not this article is triggered by the wonderful moisture that we have received here and causing the dandelions to bloom again in late summer. They are pretty to look at but not necessarily and addition to my front yard, unless you are a lover of dandelion greens to eat.

Let’s talk to day about what organic dandelion root can do for us. Yes, it is harvested and it is most valuable for us to use as it relieves symptoms of indigestion and that painful heartburn when we eat foods not properly combined for optimum digestion. It also promotes the cleansing our our liver, stimulates liver bile production, helps reduce the symptoms of bloating by acting as a mild diuretic. So you see, those beautiful yellow flowers growing are truly for our benefit.

Some suggestions to help digestion are to take the time to eat, don’t eat on the run. Sit down and enjoy your raw fruits and raw vegetables and whole grains. Your biggest meal should be consumed when you have lots of activities to do in your day. If digestive problems are a concern for you, try smaller meals and more often, such as up to 5 or 6 times per day will help. I have learned to eat this way and feel lots better and when you eat lots of raw fruits and raw vegetables you will notice that you can do this and lose weight, see your skin become healthier with less dry skin symptoms, more energy and less brain fog.

Some of the major causes of acid indigestion include foods with are high in fat content or extra spicy, too fast eating, eating too much at once, tons of caffeine or alcohol. Being to stressed can disturb our digestion also, so take a break and walk away from that desk for a few minutes and do some deep breathing and see if that will help you.

When we have to much or to large of amounts of acid in our stomach our stomachs will become irrated and eventually can cause ulcers to form. This can be quite the painful experience and one to avoid as this can be very serious to our health.

So you may need to have some dandelions, organic dandelion root, around for healthy digestion.

Please don’t resort to over the counter drugs and mess up your digestive processes as natural is always to best way to deal with our health matters.
