Refined Grains Not Healthy

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Good afternoon,

Are you getting lots of refined grain that is not healthy for you? What about refined sugar in all of your baked goods, drinks at the gas stops, desserts, and breads? Let’s look at some of the ‘bad grains’ for you today.

When WHOLE grains are processed, something very serious, with potentially devastating health consequences, happens to that grain. In order to understand this, we need to recall what REFINED GRAINS are: A REFINED grain is a WHOLE grain that has been stripped of its outer shell (fiber) and its germ (source of nutrients), leaving only the endosperm (embryo sack).

During processing, REFINED grains go through a heating, mechanical, and chemical processing, during which vitamins, proteins, fats, enzymes, in fact, almost all nutrients, as well as the fiber (outer shell of the grain), are removed, leaving practically nothing but pure white, pure ‘naked calories,’ pure refined carbohydrate.

When you read the word “enriched” on the label of a REFINED grain product, it means the manufacturer, after removing the germ from the WHOLE grain, which contained almost all the nutrients, has attempted to replace some of the nutrients lost in the processing with chemical additives.

Also, when a person consumes a REFINED grain, because the fiber has been removed, a high percentage of the starch, (which is practically all that is left after the fiber and germ have been removed), is very quickly broken down into simple sugars.

These simple sugars from REFINED grain hit the blood stream almost as rapidly as REFINED sugars do. Dealing with all of this sugar exhausts the pancreas and/or adrenals, and produces the same diabetic/hypoglycemic reactions.

Lifetime consumption of REFINED sugar is approximately 10,000 pounds per person, and the lifetime intake of REFINED grains, which converts to sugar very rapidly, is approximately 13,000 pounds. Friends, can you not now better understand why the people of today suffer with a multitude of blood sugar problems. Please take not of this, this is serious for you health and your family.

This incredibly high intake of REFINED sugar and REFINED grains, grains that convert very rapidly to sugar, is devastating the people. This high sugar intake is causing a myriad of psychological problems, dealt with by guess what – DRUGS, which only exacerbate the problem. This high sugar intake also packs on the pounds, the primary cause of nearly 70% of the population being overweight, and an ever-increasing percentage of our population becoming obese.

Prior to the year 1900, practically no REFINED sugars or REFINED grains were consumed in America or any other place in the world, and for sure, there were no REFINED sugars, or REFINED grains in the diet God gave Adam and Eden in the Garden of Eden in the Genesis 1:29 diet. Nor will you find any REFINED sugar or REFINED grains in The Hallelujah Acres Diet which I think is truly one of the best plans that we can follow for optium healthy bodies.

Because The Hallelujah Diet contains no REFINED sugars or REFINED grains, it is the best weight loss program in the world, while at the same time, because of the elimination of these REFINED products, it helps those with emotional, physiological, and depression problems recover.

Raw foods such as raw veggies, raw fruits of all kinds and colors and organic, organic nuts and seeds are all a must in our diets. Please stay away from the refined grains as they definitely are not healthy for any of us and they usually contain refined sugars as well.

5 Ways to Stay Healthy

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Good afternoon,

Let’s look at 5 different ways to stay healthy and prevent diseases from affecting our lifestyle. This means that what we eat does affect everything and every cell in our bodies.
1. Eat only when you are hungry. Eat often. I eat every 2 hours and don’t eat anything 3 hours before bedtime.
2. Use a smaller plate when you eat your meals. Smaller plates will encourage you to do smaller servings.
3. Always eat fresh fruits and fresh veggies daily, an ounce of nuts, high-fiber whole grain breads or cereal especially in the morning. My favorite is steel-cut oats with fresh blueberries, no sugar or milk, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
4. Meats, if you eat them should include a fish like salmon, talapia, flounder or catfish.
5. Really healthy is cooked tomatoes sauce for the anti-oxidant lycopene, which decreases prostate and other cancers. A good receipe is whole grain pizza crust with tomato sauce and baked then layered with all kinds of fresh veggies.

These are 5 ways to stay healthy. This is a wonderful start to protecting yourself from dis-eases, improve your immune system as it’s your first line of defense and you know what, you will probably lose a few inches from that waistline.

Drink lots of water. I drink water before every meal to also replenish my system and it also helps fill you up. It helps cleanse our bodies, keep us hydrated and keeps our skin healthy and helps avoid those wrinkles.

Avoid all processed foods, sugar loaded, and anything that contains trans and /or saturated fats on that plate of food. These things add no value to your meals or help you grow healthy cells to keep that body in the best running and healing itself on a daily basis.

Hope you enjoyed these 5 ways to help us be healthy. Start here and I know you will be healthier.

Healthy Summer Diet

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Good afternoon,

Summer is here with hot days and we are looking for some cool food ideas. Well, guess what? this time of year is wonderful for adding lots of raw veggies and raw fruits to your diets.

You don’t have to starve yourself on some far-out idea of a fad diet this summer, we can choose a healthy one and we have so many choices in summertime so we can stay away from high-calorie dishes.

The best part for all of us is we do not have to be cooking in our kitchens and it’s a two-fold deal then as we get to have cooler homes and less cooking for all.

Produce is plentiful in summer, from the availability of farmer’s markets and small local grocery stores carry fresh farm produces for us to prepare. These foods are low in calories, produce lots of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber.

Enjoy fresh produce in season this year. Try new ones and maybe even a different variety of an old favorite. Save buying the oranges and apples for fall and load up on fresh berries, melons, greens, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, beets, peas and pea pods and all of the super-nutritious and low-cal fruits, greens and veggies that grow in gardens this time of year.

Guess what, portion control can be forgotten doing and eating way this was. Go for it…its very hard to damage a waistline on fresh veggies and fresh fruits. You can even make cold soups, ever tried one? they are pretty tasty and good

Got the sweet tooth, eat some watermelon. They have seedless ones if you don’t like the mess of eating ones with seeds in them.

Grill your veggies lightly on your wood grills for a different appeal and taste. They are good cold and added to your salads also.

A grilled veggie pita is an excellent sandwich on that hot summer day to add to your summer diet menu. Have a veggie green salad with some toasted nuts, fresh blue berries, fresh raspberries and a little olive oil, apple-cider vinegar dressing and you have a great nutritional meal and Cool.

Drink plenty of fresh cold water in these hot days of summer, tired of water all the time, add some fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice.
